Privacy Policy
DarkRoom · Last updated October 5, 2026 · Effective October 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how CarbonCode ("we," "us," "our"), operated by Tomas Ramirez as a sole proprietor, handles information when you use the DarkRoom app (the "App") on iPhone and Apple Watch. DarkRoom works on your device. We do not collect your data.
1. Summary
- DarkRoom does not require an account.
- Your inputs, R factors and settings stay on your device. A few settings sync between your own devices through your iCloud account. CarbonCode never receives them.
- The App does not contact any CarbonCode server. There are no CarbonCode servers.
- No third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services.
- If the App offers in-app purchases, Apple handles payment. We never see your payment information.
2. Information we collect
None. We do not collect, transmit or store personal information on any server. The values you type into DarkRoom and your preferences are saved on your device so the App can show them next time.
3. iCloud sync
DarkRoom uses Apple's iCloud key-value storage to keep your R factors, exposure-rate constant (Γ) values and custom boundary rates the same on the devices signed in to your Apple Account. Apple stores this data under your Apple Account, and Apple's privacy policy governs it. CarbonCode cannot see or access it. You can stop syncing by turning off iCloud for DarkRoom in iOS Settings.
4. Apple Watch and notifications
The Apple Watch app gets the running shot countdown from your iPhone over Apple's direct link between your own paired devices. The end-of-shot alert is a local notification scheduled on your device. Neither is sent through any server.
5. In-app purchases
If DarkRoom offers in-app purchases, Apple processes them through the App Store. CarbonCode does not receive, process or store your payment card number or any other payment information. For purchase history and billing questions, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
6. Apple platform services
Apple may collect certain usage and diagnostic data from any App Store app, as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. Apple governs that collection, not CarbonCode. You can review it in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
7. Third-party services
DarkRoom does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, social media or crash-reporting SDKs. The App shares no data with third parties.
8. Data retention
Because we do not collect data, we have nothing to keep or delete on our end. Deleting the App removes its data from your device. Data in iCloud key-value storage is managed by Apple under your Apple Account.
9. Data security
Your data stays on your device and is protected by iOS security features, including device encryption while your device is locked. Keep your device and iOS up to date.
10. Children
DarkRoom is a professional tool for radiographic testing personnel and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will deal with it promptly.
11. Your rights
We do not collect or store personal data, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete for you. For data Apple holds, use Apple's privacy request process at privacy.apple.com.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest revision. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
